China Agricultural University publishes articles on the application of quantum dots in the rapid detection of agricultural residues
Abstract: quantum dot, nucleic acid aptamer, mobile phone spectrum: rapid detection of pesticide residues.
Pesticide residues have become a topic of global concern, which can easily lead to a variety of problems, such as polluting the agricultural environment, endangering human health, and affecting the export trade of agricultural products.
The production and consumption of pesticides have been high all over the world, so to deal with the problem of pesticide residues, it is necessary to develop a scientific monitoring and control system for agricultural residues as soon as possible.
Recently, based on previous research technology, researchers from China Agricultural University have developed a new highly sensitive on-site rapid detection technology based on quantum dot nucleic acid aptamer and mobile phone spectrometer.
The results were published in the journal Biosensor & Bioelectronics on June 2, 2018.
The new agricultural residue detection method was developed by Dr. Cheng Nan, Beijing Food Nutrition and Human Health Innovation Center. It has three remarkable characteristics:
1.The fluorescence-quenching pairing of new quantum dot nanospheres and gold nano-stars is selected to make the concentration of small molecules of agricultural residues proportional to the fluorescence signal.
2. More stable nucleic acid aptamers replace traditional antibody markers.
3. The background fluorescence signal is removed by a mobile phone spectrometer.
Comprehensive application of the above technologies to achieve high sensitivity, stability, and on-site detection of agricultural residues.
This technology can not only be used in the field of rapid detection of agricultural residues but also can be extended to in vitro diagnosis, drug detection, and other application fields.
